Thom Humann started his law enforcement career in 1986 as a Reserve Officer with the City of Brookfield Police Department in Brookfield, WI.  In 1988 he traded that position for a four year tour of duty with the United States Marine Corps, during which he was a part of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

After he ended his service in 1992 he accepted a position as a correctional officer with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department in Waukesha, WI.  In 1998 Thom accepted a position as a law enforcement deputy with the Collier County Sheriff's Office in Naples, FL.  During his career with Collier County Thom was promoted to Sergeant, served as supervisor for the award-winning DUI Task Force, received training in traffic homicide investigations and traffic crash reconstructions, became a Certified Drug Recognition Expert, and served as patrol supervisor in the North Naples and Golden Gate Estates districts.


Thom received seven Century Awards from MADD for making at least 100 DUI arrests in a calendar year and one Millennium Award for making at least 1,000 DUI arrests during his career.  He also received a Phoenix Award from the Collier County Commission for reviving a person who was clinically dead. In addition, Thom has testified in court proceedings as an expert witness on more than one occasion.


After retiring from the Collier County Sheriff's Office in 2012 Thom started Gulfcoast Consulting Services, which in 2014 evolved into Florida Confidential Investigations, LLC, which is now known as FCIS. Thom is currently a member of the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators (FALI), the Florida Association of Private Investigators (FAPI), and the Fraternal Order of Investigators.  He has previously served as an area director for FAPI.

Thom has an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice Technology from Edison College, now known as Florida Southwestern State College and has received extensive training on a variety of matters from the Institute of Police Technology and Management at the University of North Florida.  Thom is a licensed private investigator, licensed security officer, and a licensed investigative and security agency manager in the State of Florida and a Certified Process Server for Florida's 20th Judicial Circuit.  He is dedicated to providing his clients with discreet, professional, and complete solutions for their investigative and protective services needs.
